Ministry of Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Winemaking deals with issues of economic policy, regional structure policy, contributes to integration in Europe which is determined through cooperation with Central and Eastern European states. The competence of the Ministry also includes the affairs of internal commerce and foreign economic relations. Policies in the spheres of the Ministry competence are defined by expert reviewing of the proposed projects and initiatives. The Ministry develops programs to support small and medium sized business, seeks to create equal working and living conditions for citizens from all Rheinland-Palatinate area aggregations.

The Ministry seats in the capital of Rheinland-Palatinate area, the city of Mainz, and is headed by Minister Hendrik Hering.
